Clearly label the subject line as: “Public Comment: Board meeting”. The deadline to receive public comment is noon on the day of the board meeting. Questions raised may require further investigation. Normally, the board will wait until its next meeting before responding to concerns raised.

3.0 ACTION DISCUSSION

3.1 – Finalize the 2025 – 2026 Strategic Plan – Beau reviewed goals that we have accomplished and our goals for the 2025 – 2026 school year.

3.2 – Contract update to reflect MVA taking over business services – Part of our charter contract is that we pay the district for services used. Perspective from Scott and the district lawyers was that a contract change was not necessary. Julie wants all changes to be documented, so we don’t have to rely on memory.  A Memorandum of Agreement was created by MVA for clarity purposes. This changes two sentences in the original contract, Appendix B – contract services.

Motion to approve the MOA between MVA and the Lowell School District regarding services. Beau motioned to approve, Stacey motioned second. Motion has unanimously passed.

4.0 INFORMATION AND STUDY

4.1 Board Chair report – Discussion for a possible onboarding of a new board member.

4.2 Board Member report – Julie and Amber will be attending the Charter Conference in October.

4.3 Administrator’s Report – iReady implemented for 1st-8th grade. Teachers are currently working on the 2025/26 school year goals. New students to MVA are very diverse. We have added an aide in several classes to help students with learning disabilities. Big thank you from Pleasant Hill counseling department regarding the “great humans” that we send them year after year.
